Processing stages
Condensing eighty hours of work into nine minutes of film is not easy. Massimo Sodi, aka “Maxsodino”, has succeeded in making it clear how, starting from a 12-foot bamboo pole, you get to the rod ready for fishing, focusing on the most significant phases of construction.
This film, with a joking title, was made in 2011, and shows the phases of construction of the rod for the fiftieth birthday of a dear friend, who sadly passed away.
Some of the processing phases have evolved over time.
- I changed the oven for tempering the bamboo, the current one has greater temperature control.
- I changed the emptying system, today much more precise and above all replicable.
- I purchased a lathe, a valuable tool in certain processing phases and indispensable for the creation of various components: handles, reel seats… certainly a leap in quality.
Enjoy the show!
